Followers (Of Christ),
You may have a mental problem. Do not even try to deny it. It is true, mental illness and what is called "sin" or "demons" are often regarded as mental health, we have had you in our awareness for a long time through the Bible, being fully aware you are likely ill. Even just a slight touch, tiny bit unhealthy perhaps. Then again, so is every single person alive on the planet past present, and likely future. The longer you go trying to deny you are not perfect, the worse it might get someday, if not already. Fact is we were thrown into this world in a mode of denial....be it called "sin", be it called "mental health", denial is a form of sin and it is a killer. Then eventually it hits you, that you are not perfect, may have some issues, and for some, it is more than others. Religion, and mental health...can we really separate them as two separate issues? Are they the same things?
The Bible has a lot to say about mental health, and Jesus Christ was sort of like your doctor (only better) the greatest healer ever... trying to heal the world. In fact the Bible has so much to say about mental health, we can not fit it all in this one single blog today. Mind, body, soul, your mind can not survive without your body or soul, and at times, needs some care.
Mental Health And You Are In The Bible Through Jesus Christ
There really is a lot in common between the teachings of Jesus Christ and modern mental health that can work together for the good. Romans 8:28 "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose".
So often it is hard to many to keep, maintain the true meanings and depths of their spiritual belief system, when they slowly develop awareness they need a touch of help in simply knowing, feeling, perceiving they are not up to full potential of how they can be. Pray about it and ask yourself if you have the full mental, emotional empowerment and peace you think God wants for you...as he wants you to.Philipians 4: 6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
Blessings,

Mental Health And You Are In The Bible Through Jesus Christ
In areas where this ministry is founded, there are a surprising number of people actively in Firefighting and Law Enforcement with PTSD, Attorneys and Government Officials with PTSD, former military with PTSD. It is actually more females not yet diagnosed or treated for PTSD than men which is sad, in higher rates of sexual abuse underlying, because help is so close by in places like Sol-Vista Mental Health in regular therapy and specialized forms as EMDR which has been successfully used by reputable agencies like the FBI for agents with good results. Problem is the mental health providers are not advertising their services very well to the people who really need to know about it, and people who need the services aren't reaching out for lack of knowing. This Ministry intends to partnership in the future with such community resources to help it be known. Yet, this is the stuff Jesus came to earth for... Luke 5:31-32 And Jesus answered and said to them, "It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick" |

1 Peter 5:7 "casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you."
There is no less than about 22-25 versus about mental health alone in the Bible, roughly 40 in very specific reference to fear in what could be called mental health context, and of fear, the subject or words of fear comes up about 500 times, far more than those who claim it is merely 365 times as one for each day of the year. People debate pointless saying it appears far less, however, they are searching wrong, and looking for specific phrases. Fear itself appears about 500 times in he KJV. Obviously God saw fear in people then, and now, he often started right off with "fear not".
You look at our society in the shootings, mass shootings and regardless of engineered events or not, it lends to people sometimes having fear. Even fear for life, and quite often it is totally justified fears. We got news for you, fear is so normal to an abnormal world its mentioned 500 times in the Bible, but give yourself a break, and don't be "afraid" to talk to your local mental health specialist to help you stay on top of all that and keep Jesus Christ well centered in your life.
The era of mental health taboo and stigma is over, and let the healing for at least yourself in Christ begin and know their are resources available that could be as close as your phone and a prayer.
Blessings,
