Followers (Of Christ),
It never fails. You start talking about religion or mental health (as if separate issues), then someone comes along and attacks you both ways. Some understand completely and go through this a lot, especially if they admit they are followers of Christ. For some of you, maybe more so in a minority belief systems that is surrounded by a rivaling interest or more dominant religion or denomination or even non-belief. We never thought we would see the day in America when even our VP Pence would be improperly alluded he is somehow crazy for following Jesus Christ as a matter of personal faith and conviction. For the VP Pence to be hurled with accusations about mental health and religion,...is this something new or cause for concern about our societies status?
Not a cause for concern within reason. Not new at all, all is fine, normal...move along folks, nothing new here to see...it's all over, mind your business and just keep moving. This mind grind attack method from others angling in against other people about beliefs has been going on for a very long time. If it happens to you ever so often (or a lot even) it just means you are further along the road to spiritual clarity in your view of Gods face someday than others might be. Sort of one foot across the finish line already spiritually and surrounded by jealous vultures trying to pull you down as they say "not fair!...not fair! You must think you're better than us!". This doesn't mean you have to "like" being harassed, attacked, discredited, labeled or called delusional, crazy, but just remember, you got places to go when this life is done, and people to see...like Jesus Christ. They did it to Jesus too...in their great mental health smear agenda. Then again, we experience the "first in line privilege" every so often as well like you might, as we wait for our number to be called into heaven.
So...What Did They State About Jesus Christ State Of Mind?
Some believe the State persecutes/prosecutes them for their beliefs in mental health smear,...truth be told, it can and does happen. Usually about dominant belief systems compared to lower numbered belief systems regionally, or what kind of state of mind collectively holds power at any given time period. It is nothing new, we see it in Jeremiah 29:26 "The
LORD has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, to be the
overseer in the house of the LORD over every madman who prophesies, to
put him in the stocks and in the iron collar...". Putting people into jail and on accusations of mental health smear has been around a long, long time. Currently in some areas it is done differently as old tricks under new names. Think it not strange if it happens to you, but is a good idea to recognize the universality of Jesus Christ regardless your denomination.
And if you think that just because you know Jesus Christ you will be immune from efforts to attack or discredit, ...then think again, they did it to Jesus too. Even Jesus Christ own family members gave him up to others as being called "out of his mind". Mark 3:21 -"And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself." (Berean:Mark 3:20 Then Jesus went home, and once again a crowd gathered, so that He and His disciples could not even eat. 21 When His family heard about this, they went out to take custody of Him, saying "He is out of His mind". 22And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and, “By the prince of the demons He drives out demons.”…)
Is it any irony that the one they said was out of his mind, just happens to be the savior of the entire human race? John 10:20 Many of them said, "He is demon-possessed and insane. Why would you listen to Him?", if Jesus can live through it...well, then again, he died, yet he did rise again...but if he can live through it, we are confident you can too.
Living through it is not the point though, the goal is to live through it...but for God. This so others can see God with more clarity through you and it all sort of balances out where it really doesn't matter what others say or think on the sidelines if you just keep your focus to God. Crazy for God, or sane for God, it takes all kinds. 2 Corinthians 5:13 "If we are out of our mind, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you."
We have been severely attacked and discredited at times, you might even go through it with 99.9 percent of others power and control to stifle your speech, and only get one golden moment of truth to speak that makes it hardly worth it,...but still, it's worth it. 2 Kings 9:11 "Now Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, 'Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?' And he said to them, "You know very well the man and his talk.".
If they did it to Jesus too, and he got killed for it, but lives for it even still and today, think it not strange they did it to even the VP of the United States Of America knowing Jesus Christ could conceivably return in our lifetimes. The attacks are nothing new.
Learn to deal with it knowing it is not good, not fair, not loving, but knowing it is they way of the world,...Martin Luther King jr. said it well when he said;
“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”
The "key" to it all, even when you must pause before responding...is Luke 6:27 - "But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you.."
It is not always easy, and we admit sometimes it is not possible in a dangerous world of violence and evil where you also must bear your duty to live and survive, but when you really want to change the world, inside of you as well, and others...even if you have to overcompensate to make up for others lack of love by example in additional self control (within reason)...like that picture above, we can all walk down the street called "state of mind". Gotta love it to walk it, let's go for a stroll...in the power of his love.
